Excellent Mt. Baldy Sledding – Part II

January 12, 2009

We went to Mt. Baldy last week and it was fun, but it was way too cold. This weekend, another little friend of ours wanted to go, so we decided to try it again!

The weather was warm and it hasn’t snowed in a week or two, so we weren’t sure if there will actually be snow enough to sled or not; but thankfully, Mt. Baldy is not that too far from us.

So we started out at about 1.00 pm and got there at about 2.00; we didn’t see any snow till we were almost at the Mt. Baldy town. The place was busy but not very crowded.

Our plan was to park at the Mt. Baldy ski lift, but the snow was a little farther from there and we had a lot of things to carry, so we decided to drive back to the town to get parking pass also called adventure pass. There were at lest 4 or 5 parking police people so don’t take a chance of not getting a parking pass. My dad says that we will just buy a couple of those passes and carry with us in the car.

We got out of the car; it was kind of windy and we had several sleds with us and for a moment it seemed that the wind will convert the sled in to a parasail – ok, just kidding. I held on to it pretty tight.

The snow was … ice; it was a bit hard; which is not too bad for sledding. I grabbed the one sled that has brakes for myself and here you can see me going up the hill.

My friends A. and D.; this was A’s first snow and he was a trooper and he had a great time. We were trying to make a snowman for him.

And after a cold day out – you need some hot chocolate:
