My Halloween Costume – Idea Girl
I didn’t have much time to prepare for the Halloween this year. The day before the Halloween, I got back from school and later that evening we decided to put a costume together.
My dad and I came up with an idea of being an “Idea girl”, with a bulb on the head that would light up when I had an idea.
We looked for things in the house and found a bicycle helmet – that will be the hat that I use. Then we looked for a bulb, there were plenty of those, but how about having “the bulb that lit up” part? And then we found a flash light! My dad took the flash light part and used some wires to connect the batteries to the bottom part of the bulb and hot glued the bulb to the helmet. We even found a tiny switch that we added to turn the light on and off.
So actually I had three bulbs on my head – the big one, which was just for show, a small one that came from a flash light and an LED that my dad tried to add, which didn’t work too well. You can see a little speck of a red on the hat. I am holding on to the switch in this picture.
The wires were supposed to go in the back and then I had a waist bag which held the two large batteries. So when I turned the switch on, the middle bulb lit up and illuminated the big bulb, it was cool.
My mom and I painted the shirt with “Ideas 5 cents” and I was ready. I even had a big questionmark on the back of my t-shirt.
Everybody liked my costume at the school, except at about noon, the big bulb broke!
In the evening time, we replaced the broken bulb and my friend Christina and I went for trick or treating around the neighborhood. A few places where I showed them my light and how it lit up, I got double the candy! So the costume was a success.
A few people at my school offered to pay me 5 cents for my ideas, but I have not collected that money yet!

Last year I took a picture of a rainbow outside of our house; it was very large, but it wasn’t as dramatic and and as clear.

What a great summer I had!
These are some of the things that I did.
Pt. Magu camping: It was right on the ocean – saw some seals and roasted mangoes and toasted marshmallows (or was it toasted mangoes and roasted marshmallows?).
Camping at Y: Went camping at the Lake Castaic with the whole Y group. Took my large tent with me and had a great time.
iPhone: I didn’t write about it, but in July, my dad and I got up at 6.00 am in the morning and stood in the line outside of Apple store and got the iPhone 3G. My dad doesn’t like to stand in lines, so we still can’t believe we did that. I am having great time playing with the games and downloading things from the App Store.
Picnic: Went to the Bangla Picnic and played some and a wonderful afternoon.
Party at house: We had a party at our house for some of my friends and their parents. It was wonderful.
Comedy club: I took classes at the Comedy Club this summer. I think I will start them again in November. Learned some great games and had a blast. During the last class, my friends came over and watched me perform my comedy routine.
Las vegas: Aha, for my birthday, we went to Las Vegas and did so many fun things. Dinner at Paris and I did get a lot of presents.
Disneyland: Went to Disneyland with the camp group. It was nice but not spectacular as some had told me.
Knotsberry farm: This trip was great. I went to 3-4 rides and had a wonderful time.
Harry potter 4-7: Read Harry Potter’s books 4-7. Great books! Can’t wait for the prequel.
Lord of Rings: Started reading Lord of the Rings.
Roller skating: Went to a roller scating party – I learned how to skate in no time at all.
French fry frenzy: Participated in French Fry Frenzy – got French fries from McDonald, Burger King, Jack in the Box, in and out, Kentucky fried chicken, red robins and several other places and did a taste test. In-and-out tasted very fresh, Burger king was crispiest.
Guitar hero: Played Guitar Hero; but not for very long.

Music video: went to a party for my friend’s birthday and made a music video.
RC Helicopter: Played with the RC helicopter. Had a blast. It is not broken yet!
Olympics: Watched Olympics!
Challenge: Watched way too many Food network challenges.
Whale watching: Went whale watching didn’t see any whales but the boat ride was fun; I have seen whales up-close before.
Six flags: Went to six flag park. I was a bit scared of the big roller coasters so I just did some small ones.

Libby lou: Went to Libby Lou for a fun girl’s party for a friend’s birthday. got a nice head band!
Cheered for Obama and Hillary: Watched some Obama and Hillary speeches and cheered for them.
Poptropica: Played this game umpteen number of times. I am an expert now!
Tea party: Went to a tea party for a birthday and had fun.
Cube runner, Monkey ball, Tap tap revenge: Played all these games on the iPhone.
Went to temple: Went to the temple a few times. We go there every alternate Sundays. I also went to the Malibu temple, which is very beautifully carved.
Swimming pool birthday party:

Raging waters: Saved the best for the last; went to raging water park and had so much fun.

I feel dizzy, just thinking about all the things I did.
Back to school now!

At the Bangla Picnic
My friend S.

And my friend D.
We played balloon toss and raced a bit. I didn’t win those but I got two consolation prizes, so it wasn’t too bad.
The chicken was really good at the picnic and we had a lot of fun!

Here is my Wordle : tags and words in my blog

Wordle is like a tag cloud; it takes the text from my blog and shows which word is used most often and scales it.
Doesn’t work too well, because it didn’t capture everything important from my blog, but it looks pretty.
